“Let’s Talk Charity” with Dr. Ann Faraone

Our Director of Education Services, Dr. Ann Faraone, sat down for an insightful and inspiring interview for Legends Radio’s (Satellite 100.3) “Let’s Talk Charity!” special. Joined by hosts Sherrye Sammons and Gina Franano, Dr. Ann Faraone represented the American Association of Caregiving Youth for an opportunity to spread awareness.

On this Sunday’s Let’s Talk Charity we welcome Dr. Ann Faraone, Director of Education Services with AACY – American Association of Caregiving Youth. This organization is headquartered in Boca Raton, and is the only organization in the country providing programs and services to youth (ages 8-18) who care for an ill, elderly, or disabled family member (in many cases, more than 1 family member!). Partnering with the Palm Beach County School District for over 15 years, AACY has established the Caregiving Youth Project (CYP) in over 35 schools. They provide services in school, at home, and in the community, thus helping to remove the barriers faced by these “under the radar” students.

One of the greatest challenges we face is awareness of the unheralded work done by these youth–juggling family and school responsibilities while trying to be just “normal” kids. Her husband Tony Brocco is also of supporter of Ann and ACCY. Please listen to this very important topic this Sunday at 9:30 on Legends Radio 100.3
