Volunteers make a life-changing difference for Caregiving Youth and their families.
Through the Caregiving Youth Project in Palm Beach County, students who care for family members who are ill, injured, aging, or disabled get the extra support they need to do well in school and in life, while still having the chance to just be kids.
Volunteers help make that happen. Some give rides to activities, others mentor or tutor, and many pitch in at events or in the office. Whatever your interests or skills, AACY will find a place where you can jump in and make an impact.

Helping AACY and Caregiving Youth in Palm Beach County
Office Support: Join our team of fun, friendly volunteers in Boca Raton, FL. If you have a skill, we have a job for you. We need assistance in Administrative tasks, data entry, filing, letter writing, and daily team support.
Activities & Event Support: AACY encourages our students to enjoy outings, camps, parties, ceremonies, and field trips. Our much anticipated holiday party requires many volunteers. Holidays can be more stressful for our families. We help make amazing holiday memories for Caregiving Youth, and you can do that, too.
Transportation: Our AACY transportation team removes barriers to participation for our students, ensuring they can participate in activities and enjoy being kids just like all others. They also deliver turkeys to families over the holidays and support our staff. Providing rides is an easy opportunity to give back, making a world of difference for our youth.
Fundraising Team: Join our unique group of dedicated volunteers who orchestrate successful fundraising events from start to finish. We’re looking for leaders, creative thinkers, and energetic, motivated individuals to apply.
The magical part of mentoring is the life-changing benefits for our mentors.
Mentors help reassure our youth that they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges. A mentor is a friend, a resource, an advisor, or coach. Mentors are present. When their mentee needs guidance or advice, they are there to offer assistance. Often, our mentors make lasting relationships that stretch far beyond the school years. These connections benefit not only the mentee but the entire family. Quality structured mentoring relationships have powerful positive effects on our youth. Our mentors are trained and supported throughout the entire mentor process.
- Are 21 and older.
- Are paired with mentees of the same gender.
- Spend at least four hours per month with their mentee.
- Begin by making a one-year commitment to the role.
- Are carefully screened. This includes criminal background checks, motor vehicle driving history, personal references, as well as in-depth personal interviews with the Volunteer Manager.
- Attend small group events and activities that are held throughout the year for learning and enjoyment.
- Are required for ongoing training and communication with the Volunteer Manager.
