In recent weeks two caregiving youth families were assisted by the generosity of an AACY donor.  In both cases the father was disabled and unable to work. The mothers, who normally worked full time were unable to due to unexpected surgery.  By paying one month's rent and retrieving an impounded vehicle, both families were able to get back on track and our caregiving youth were relieved of extra stress.

Jordan wakes at 6 a.m. She helps her mother, who is recovering from surgery for , into the bath. Jordan has it all timed. She gulps down breakfast as her mother bathes, and returns to help her out of the tub. "I'll make sure her bandages are clean and didn't get too wet," Jordan says. "And if they did get too wet, I change them."

The Women's Executive Club welcomed AACY President & Founder Dr. Connie Siskowski, to their November Luncheon where she shared caregiving youth stories and discussed AACY including the Caregiving Youth Institute and the new Caregiving Youth Research Collaborative.
