PRESS ALERT | December 5, 2025 | The American Association of Caregiving Youth (AACY) is pleased to share that Many Ways To Show You Care from Fred Rogers Productions and PBS KIDS is now available nationwide. AACY spoke with the project team early in their planning process, and we are encouraged to see this thoughtful work come to fruition in ways that help broaden awareness of caregiving in childhood.
Many Ways To Show You Care introduces children ages 2 to 6, their families, and educators to the many forms care takes within everyday family life. The initiative features short documentaries that highlight children who provide care in their families, including stories such as:
- Josh’s Story, which follows an 11-year-old who helps care for his father, who has a disability that affects his mobility and speech. The video emphasizes how open conversations can support both children and adults.
- Anabella’s Story, which features a 10-year-old who helps care for her younger brothers, including one who has multiple disabilities. The video shows how children often find natural ways to be helpful in their families.
The initiative also includes a music video based on the Mister Rogers song “There Are Many Ways To Say I Love You”, along with lesson plans and classroom resources drawn from Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Alma’s Way, Donkey Hodie, and Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. Family activities are also available through PBS KIDS for Parents.

AACY welcomes this national attention to caregiving as an early childhood experience. As awareness continues to grow across the United States, initiatives like this help create more understanding and recognition for the millions of children and adolescents who provide care in their families.
This broader visibility is an important step toward ensuring that Caregiving Youth are acknowledged, supported, and included in conversations about family care across the country.
